A building with History

 

Don Cristóbal de Rojas and Sandoval nation in Hondarribia, probably on July 24, 1501 and died in Cigales (Valladolid) in 1580.

He was the son of Fernando de Rojas Sandoval, Marquess of Denia and Ms. Dominga de Alcega, born in Hondarribia. He was an important figure in the Catholic Church, becoming Bishop of various cities, leaving all evidence of their intellectual and personal talent.
In 1571 he was appointed Archbishop of Seville. He also participated in the Council of Trfento and was chaplain of Charles V.
It lies buried in its own desire, in the church of San Pedro de lerms (Burgos).
The town of Hondarribia erected a statue in his honor, the work of José Díaz Bueno, who chairs the Plaza del Obispo.
